I think this graph fails to communicate its scale at a glance to the layman. I favor attracting attention to environmental problems, but drastic change does not influence the shape of this graph so much as human formatting decisions; by squeezing a relatively large increment of ordinate into a 2 inch space and cleaving off most of the relevant abscissa, this graph loses its value for intuitive appraisal.
"Fighting fire with fire," in this case, ignorance with zealous propoganda, is not necessary when we have the truth on our side. Gentle waters of truth best quench the flame of idiocy.
A variance of 2 degrees in ambient climate is barely a warm zephyr compared to what this planet has experienced in even the recent past.
My suggestion: Qualify this graphical statement with increments not widely skewed from the usual layout most familiar to the layman. I've too often been rightfully accused of skewing the facts as much as the axes in debates with sharp-minded fellows to let this forego my attention.
    Have I a sound point?
Please respond with something other than accusations of heresy, which seem now easier to accrue than to dismiss.

              Sincerely,
Environmentalist Who's had his Rabies Shots
