Hunter S. Thompson, the author famous for his 1972 book Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, died Sunday, February 20 in his home in Colorado. He was 67 years old.

Thompson is famous for the advent of gonzo journalism, in which the reader is put into a story as it unfolds.

In 1972, Thompson published a book entitled Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, which covered Thompson's attempt to cover a motorcycle race there.

As per his wishes, Thompson's remains will be shot out of a cannon rather than buried.
