Man arrested after driving wrong way on Interstate 93 in New Hampshire

A man from Lowell, Massachusetts was arrested Monday after driving the wrong way on Interstate 93 in New Hampshire near Exit 34C in Franconia Notch at 11 p.m. Sunday night said state police.
According to state police, near Exit 39, the man was driving straight toward them in the fast lane. Early efforts to pull him over did not succeed. Troopers soon spotted another vehicle heading southbound, directly in the path of the driver going the wrong way. Fortunately, the southbound driver managed to steer clear of the oncoming vehicle. A short time later, the man was pulled over onto the shoulder of the road, where officers took him into custody.
The man faces charges including reckless conduct, driving after his license was revoked or suspended, a third DWI offense, and disobeying a police officer, according to state police. The man is being held in preventive detention and is scheduled for arraignment in Littleton District Court at a later date.
