SUV strikes bus carrying suburban high school students in Chicago

On Friday, a school bus transporting suburban high school students was involved in a collision with an SUV in Mount Greenwood, Chicago, Illinois. Seventeen students were reported to have sustained injuries and were hospitalized at several different locations, along with two drivers.

The accident occurred on the city's south side. The SUV driver was attempting to make a right turn in front of the bus waiting at a red light when his vehicle was struck on its passenger side.

School superintendent Dr. Josh Barron made a statement where he confirmed the number of the students involved in the collision.

As of Friday, authorities are reviewing the incident and citations are pending against the SUV driver.
