A gunman carried out a school shooting in Graz, Austria, killing eleven people on Tuesday.[SOURCE, SOURCE] Starting around 10:00 CEST (0800 UTC) he attacked Austria second-largest learning center on Dreierschützengasse in the city. The 21-year-old former student, who had not completed his final exam, shot and killed nine people before turning the weapon on himself, according to the interior minister. A tenth victim later died in the hospital.
Officials stated that the shooter took his own life inside the school facility. In response, Austria will observe three days of mourning. The Chancellor said, "No words for the pain and grief."
According to an unconfirmed report from the Salzburger Nachrichten newspaper, the suspect had experienced bullying. He entered the school with a pistol and a shotgun and opened fire on students in two different classrooms, including one he had previously attended.
Police, including special COBRA tactical units, responded within minutes. They evacuated the school and secured the area.
