Yes, but that can be very misleading. Especially stringing together paragraphs with open quotation marks. I am in particular talking about the "MAGA extremists" and "cutting Social Security". This is not in AP or NBC in this order. SVTCobra 00:30, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Well, NBC said: "...'MAGA extremists are lining up' to cut the social safety net and take away personal liberties.

@Heavy Water:, firstly, what did you use from FiveThirtyEight? NBC had their own poll and the Gallup poll. Politico had the Ipsos-Reuters poll. I was able to verify everything without FiveThirtyEight. Anyway, that matters not. This post is because I wanted to expand a little on 'synthesized quotes' beyond what I said above and in my review below. I will use a specific example from this article. In your article as submitted you had this: "This is not a time to be complacent [...] This is our moment [to] defend democracy. Stand up for our personal freedoms. Stand up for the right to vote and our civil rights [...] That's why I'm running for reelection [...] Let's finish this job. I know we can." However, the quote from the NBC source (and indeed the video itself which I watched) was: "This is not a time to be complacent. That’s why I’m running for re-election." You interjected no fewer than three statements or sentence fragments in the middle of two sentences which Biden uttered back-to-back in the video. While what you did did not run afoul of WN:NPOV or change the sentiment of what Biden was saying, it can be rife for abuse. Wikinews should not tolerate synthesizing quotes, in my opinion. Allowing this would open a door where an editor could materially alter what the quoted person was saying or trying to say. We can't just re-order statements. I hope this makes sense. For constructive criticism, I have the following: I disapprove of the way you 'synthesized' quotes (as already mentioned in talk above). And in my opinion, you have a habit of creating run-on sentences, especially by using a semi-colon to separate things which should be two sentences.
But I commend and thank you for this excellent article.
