I have to disagree. Plenty of other outlets consider this newsworthy, [1] is a selection. The fifth paragraph is actually a continuation of the quote from Deidre Sanders, not the author's own opinion. That quote should probably be cut down for copyright reasons though. I do agree this shouldn't be under Wackynews. the wub "?!" 21:13, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Right, I've had a go at fixing the issues. the wub "?!" 21:54, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Pronouns[edit]

Why is Wikinews not using the pronoun of choice of the subject of this article? Our policy in the past for names and social titles has been to use the subject's preference, for example a married woman who wishes to be addressed as Ms Surname would be identified that way. The Duchess of Cornwall is Camilla Parker Bowles, not Parker Bowles or just Bowles. It appears certain this individual would prefer to be referred to as she, not he. - Amgine | t 21:07, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

'has sex change'?[edit]

Whatever we think here, the boy is simply wearing different clothes at this stage, that is not a 'sex change'.

One might also wonder if propaganda leading to pre-adolescent hormone treatments and genital mutilation is really good for a twelve-year-old child on that path, but those are other questions.Borgmcklorg (talk) 12:29, 30 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I agree the headline goes a step too far. Dressing as one's preferred gender is no more a "sex change" than gender reassignment surgery is "genital mutilation". - Elmarco (talk) 14:59, 4 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
