Talk:Australian Nationals leave Coalition with Liberal Party
Add topicAbout Dutton lost his seat
[edit]"The election itself was historic, with Liberal leader Peter Dutton losing his seat to a Labor MP (the first to do so in the country's history) after leading the party to one of the most decisive election defeats in Australian history. " Did John Howard also lose his seat to a Labour member? I don't think "the first to do so in the country's history" is clear enough. Best wishes. Sheminghui.WU (talk) 07:32, 24 May 2025 (UTC)
- Also,I think maybe you should mention that the National Party leader has said he will seek to restructure the coalition with the Liberal Party. That will be better. Sheminghui.WU (talk) 07:36, 24 May 2025 (UTC)
- Not sure If I'll do it now, but when I first wrote the story they hadn't announced that they were looking at getting back together. I (or someone) should probably add that. TheDowningStreetCat (talk) 23:31, 25 May 2025 (UTC)
- Ok, clarified the statement a bit more. You can change it if it's not clear enough. Also added that Dutton is the first opposition leader to lose his seat in a federal election. TheDowningStreetCat (talk) 23:35, 25 May 2025 (UTC)
- OK. For the getting back together, you can read https://www.abc.net.au/news/2025-05-20/federal-politics-may-20/105311448#live-blog-post-181847
- Best wishes. Sheminghui.WU (talk) 00:10, 26 May 2025 (UTC)

Review of revision 4860319 [Passed]
[edit]| |
Revision 4860319 of this article has been reviewed by Gryllida (talk · contribs) and has passed its review at 22:05, 26 May 2025 (UTC).
Comments by reviewer: I scream in despair, having slept for 8 hours and there was no response to my comments above. I responded by removing the 1923 phrase and removing theguardian source. Highly recommended to re add the 1923 phrase with additional source, and a sentence about effects on shadow cabinet as according to my car radio it is an essential part of the story, and the sources linked here also mention this. Please do this within next 24 hours. Thanks. The reviewed revision should automatically have been edited by removing {{Review}} and adding {{Publish}} at the bottom, and the edit sighted; if this did not happen, it may be done manually by a reviewer. |

Coalition is looking at reforming
[edit]A lot of recent news is saying that the parties are getting back together. While the article is dated to before this happened, I'm still not sure if this new info should be included since it would probably require moving the article. Just seems misleading to say that they have only split, especially since it was only published very recently. Would like to know what others think of this. - And that article now exists, see Australian Coalition reunited after one week TheDowningStreetCat (talk) 01:53, 29 May 2025 (UTC)
Post-publication corrections
[edit]I corrected Green’s first name and removed unsourced or interpretive statements to align with Wikinews' NPOV and verifiability policies. Since these edits were made within 24 hours of publication and reflect reviewer actions typically performed during a formal (and full) review, I have self-sighted the changes in accordance with policy. —Michael.C.Wright (Talk/Reviewer) 16:17, 27 May 2025 (UTC)
