Reporter's notes[edit]

Have contacted 3 state MPs for comment (contact info linked) - independent state MP for Shepparton Suzanna Sheed, Liberal Democrats MLC for Northern Victoria Tim Quilty, and Justice Party MLC for Northern Victoria Tania Maxwell. --LivelyRatification (talk) 02:26, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Called them all just now to follow up - no response, expected given that it's the weekend. --LivelyRatification (talk) 06:17, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Called them all now again. Sheed's media person mainly asked about my credentials, so I've sent her through via email a list of articles I've published and information on how Wikinews works. Quilty's office told me they'd forward the email onto their media/comms person (due to the hundreds of emails they get, it understandably got lost), while Maxwell's office sent me directly to speak with their media/comms person, who assured me that they'd recieved it and I'd get a response, just that they've been busy. --LivelyRatification (talk) 00:15, 16 August 2021 (UTC)--LivelyRatification (talk) 00:15, 16 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Have recieved a press release from Quilty's office, forwarded to scoop and can be seen below.
Monday, 16 August 2021
The following can be attributed to Tim Quilty, Liberal Democrats Member for Northern Victoria:
STARTS
“I am very pleased to see the Victorian Government actually invest in rail infrastructure to benefit Northern Victorian communities.
“More efficient and reliable freight and passenger transport will benefit the city’s economy and help ease traffic on our roads.
“Shepparton is an important regional centre and this investment should continue to improve transport links – with nine passenger services a day, lots of Northern Victorian towns will be envious of the service Shepparton is going to have.
“You have to wonder, though, just how many times they can announce the same project before the next election. It would be great if they would shut up about how they are going to build it, and just get on with it.”

I've gotten permission from Quilty's office to use an image of him that they've provided in an article. Have forwarded that permission onto scoop, and will upload said image momentarily. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by LivelyRatification (talkcontribs) 04:27, 16 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Submitting now - even if I contacted them on the weekend, I called all 3 of them at the start of the workday to follow up. I'd say they've had plenty of opportunity to respond, given it's now 6PM. --LivelyRatification (talk) 08:06, 16 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Brainfart on my behalf - was working over this for a few days, realised I didn't have cats, thought I'd add them before I submitted them, and just plain forgot. Apologies, I've added some now. --LivelyRatification (talk) 21:17, 16 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
