Hi @George Ho @Wikiwide @BigKrow @Lofi Gurl @Back ache @Md Mobashir Hossain @Almondo2025, @Dsuke1998AEOS, @Ternera, @Monsieur2137 @Asked42, @Sheminghui.WU, @excelblue (if you want yourself removed or someone else added to this list, please inquire here) A revision has been requested. Here is a list of what to do. (If/when you intend to start working on it, please Subscribe to this section and to this talk page, and post reply messages here when you started and finished editing) See below:

1) Add wikilinks.

2) Write content in past tense.

3) Remove subjective adjectives where possible.

4) Check the facts. If something wrong, ask here.

Thanks. Gryllida 19:46, 10 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

1) Done the easiest task;
2) Ongoing;
3) Done;
4) Ongoing;
However, it may be difficult to write this article in past tense without making the order of events misleading. I'm wondering whether it would be better to wait until the end of his visit on 13 June, during which some news articles will probably pop up, and then write a longer in-depth article about his whole visit. Opinions, Gryllida? Dsuke1998AEOS (talk) 00:34, 11 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
I think that works. Then it needs to be taken off review queue and rewritten in past tense the way it will be submitted for review after the visit. Gryllida 10:40, 11 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
I'll start reframing this article later today if his visit is finished until then, probably with a headline like "Bangladeshi interim leader Muhammad Yunus returns home after four-day visit to London". Dsuke1998AEOS (talk) 00:22, 14 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
You can start editing now, beforr visit is over. Like a prepared story. Leave blanks for unknown infos which will be confirmed later. Start looking for images which are released under a free licence. Gryllida 10:38, 14 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Dsuke1998AEOS Do it! I wanna to help you. Md Mobashir Hossain (talk) 14:47, 14 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Md Mobashir Hossain: (Sorry for the delayed response) Sure! I have more or less an idea of how will be the pyramid structure of this article:
-- A very short lead paragraph about his arrival in Dhaka (which I have done);
-- A second paragraph about the flight and main points of the trip (which I have also done);
-- Third and subsequent paragraphs could be used to write about the events during his trip, perhaps in normal (not inverse) chronological order;
-- Last paragraphs for the reactions and reception to the visit (if available) and background content;
Feel free to add new content earlier, I'm happy to help you out with copy-editing and source-checking. In the meantime, I'm going to draft an alternative version of the article. Here are some sources that could be used to expand it:
Chief adviser Yunus returns home wrapping up London tour
Bangladesh leader declines to meet Tulip Siddiq
UK lawyers hired to recover stolen money: CA Yunus
National polls possible in 2nd week of February, agree Yunus, Tarique in 'historic' London meeting Dsuke1998AEOS (talk) 23:20, 14 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
Please clear your comment @BigKrow! Isn't it a news? Md Mobashir Hossain (talk) 05:24, 17 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Title doesn't tell focal point

Title needs to specify the focal point. BigKrow (talk) 19:40, 17 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

While waiting for a review

[edit]

Consider reducing the number of sources listed, if possible.

While there is no strict limit on the number of sources in a Wikinews article, all sources must be used, verifiable, and non-redundant. Per WN:Source policy, contributors should avoid listing sources that merely repeat the same information without adding value. If several sources confirm the same fact, only the most relevant or strongest should be cited. Using many near-identical sources can suggest padding or superficial synthesis, which increases review time without improving the article.

Instead, focus on selecting sources that each contribute something distinct, whether through factual details, background context, or diverging accounts, and be prepared to use those differences meaningfully in the article. This improves accuracy, supports neutrality, and aligns with the purpose of synthesis: to provide readers with a clearer or more complete picture than any single source alone.

Thank you for using {{verify}}. It is a huge help. The following articles are listed in the Sources section but do not have a corresponding {{verify}} link. If they aren't used to directly support any statement in the article, they can be removed:

@Michael.C.Wright: I'm still in the process of adding the {{Verify}} tags to the sentences that do not have them, and for better or for worse all the sources listed in the article appear to be necessary. There is still some missing information, for example Yunus's announcement on 13 June of elections in February 2026 and a short background paragraph about when he came to power. I will add those soon. Thanks!
Also; I had to update the template recently to use named parameters. If you don't name the first parameter source1 it will output [unsourced]. Just FYI. —Michael.C.Wright (Talk/Reviewer) 01:44, 18 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I was wondering why the template was outputting "Unsourced". I added the missing info, and managed to cut one unnecessary source (this one), but added another Reuters article. Dsuke1998AEOS (talk) 03:40, 18 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Michael.C.Wright: This article will go stale on 21 June. If you will not have time to review it, no problem, I will try to Gatwick it if possible, though it takes a lot of work for me to expand such an article only for it to have to be mostly updated. Dsuke1998AEOS (talk) 00:13, 20 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
It's next on my list to get to, hopefully tomorrow morning, unless someone else gets to it first. The goal is for you not to have to gatwick it. I can appreciate the hassle that is gatwicking. Michael.C.Wright (Talk/Reviewer) 01:52, 20 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Edit conflict while under review

[edit]

While an article is marked as "under review," further edits are strongly discouraged due to the risk of edit conflicts.

During my review, a new source and additional text was added[1] while I was actively editing, resulting in an edit conflict. My next edit reverted that addition and any other changes made in the conflicting edit.

I have removed the "under review" tag so development can continue. I recommend moving the article back to the develop queue for further polishing. Significant revisions were needed for accuracy and proper attribution, especially in the paragraph about the proposed Yunus–Starmer meeting. Please refer to the edit history for details.

Other parts of the article should also be reviewed for similar issues, including attribution clarity and avoiding synthesis or analysis in wikivoice. Michael.C.Wright (Talk/Reviewer) 14:15, 20 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

@Michael.C.Wright: That new text is actually the old text which you had removed (understandably) for being unsourced. I forgot to add the DT article during the process of removing redundant sources. Other than this, the only addition that I think should be made is a recent photograph of Yunus (I'm currently searching for one on Commons). Dsuke1998AEOS (talk) 14:27, 20 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Review of revision 4865333 [Passed]

[edit]

Wow, this is a pleasant surprise (shall I take "Michael.C.Wright approves my article" as a high compliment!?) I didn't even think that this article was my best (for example, the ones on the activists in Tanzania or even the Kenyan ant smuggling appeared better in terms of coverage).

In retrospect, I'm not entirely happy that I placed the paragraph about Yunus's departure near the very end. The focal event is about him coming back to his country, and that paragraph is also part of the focal event (I note that you also repositioned the para about his arrival in London). I also don't like that this article has no content on Yunus's activities on 10 June (very limited coverage in the sources), though it's too late to correct these issues now.

On the plus side, I intend to continue writing lower-stakes political articles like this one, rather than any extremely contentious "Trump says/makes X" articles. Thanks for reviewing it and creating its Wikidata item. Dsuke1998AEOS (talk) 22:11, 20 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Longer, in-depth articles can be a real asset to the project—especially when they reflect the quality we aim for. They offer lasting value and benefit both the project and its contributors. I think you’re more than capable of tackling a more contentious topic, since you handle neutrality and balance well—and we could really use someone writing in those areas.
