mate good second half from your lads?
[We had a] good second half. Obviously first competitive match [of the year] tonight. It was good for the boys to get the cobwebs out. We've played a few, I think, probably, easier sort of preseason games and obviously they've come up from the Gold Coast. [They had a good win last week. We started a bit slow and obviously we got a few new players. So we're all just still gelling. But yeah, no, it was a really good second half. We're happy with that. And we'll take that into training next week and be ready for round one.
What was the score at the end there?
4-1
1-1 at half time then 4-1 full timw?
Yeah, 1-1 at half time and ended up in 4-1.
Yeah, we're happy with that sort of score?
Yeah, look, we're happy with that. Obviously, three goals in the second half. We rotated through the boys, everyone got good minutes. So, yeah, no, look, we're real happy with that.
Who have you got first up in the league?
Brisbane Knights. So that's going to be an interesting game because we obviously haven't played any of those teams really before. They don't know who we are. So the first round, I think, of that season is going to be an interesting one. It'll be at home, 5 o'clock next weekend.
So all your home games are five o 'clock kick-off?
We're always at five, so make sure you're here, mate.
Who scored you all the five o'clock kickoff?
Who what?
Who organised for five?
I did.
You did?
No, we like it at five, three and five. You can still enjoy your night out if you want to have a night out, mate.
What's preparation being like in the lead up to this one and then on into Brisbane Knights round one?
Yeah, so we've had three preseason games, a couple local teams and a Brizzy team. We good results against all of those teams and training's been good. We've had really good numbers down at training And, yeah, look, as I said, we're looking forward to next week, round one, new league down here at home. So hopefully we can get a good supporter base down here.
What are you expecting from Brisbane Knights first?
Look, Brisbane Knights, it's a big club, but we really don't know, to be honest. We're just going to worry about ourselves. Obviously, we think we can be competitive this year there's no doubt about that. As long as we can play 90 minutes. Not like tonight where for first half an hour was it wasn't great. We need to play like we did in the second half for the whole game.
So you're learning about the other teams as you go?
As we go yeah. Obviously QPL2 is recorded. So after the first couple weeks we'll be able to watch a couple games and see what sort of you're coming up against. First game we don't know what we're going into. They don't know us. So it's going to be good fun.
Looked like you guys had a decent crowd here for this Cup game.
Yeah, look, good crowd hopefully that can just build as time goes on. I know the the president told me she's gonna be putting heaps on Facebook next week. So yeah we'll be looking at that.
