Evidently not. Brussels has a local target. And wikify request also asks for linking other keywords that were not previously linked.

You've already made it almost impossible to track protected edit requests slapping this template here and there; please tell me you're not going to apply it to all the over 4,000 pages with local targets, especially not given they already have a tracking category of their own. At the moment there's no way to tell if there's anything of importance awaiting response because this template is designed to flood the protected edit category.   • As a third way, rather than either flooding Category:Protected edit requests or forgoing the {{wikify}} template, one might make Category:Pages to be wikified a subcategory of Category:Protected edit requests and modify the template to list pages only in the subcat.
  • This particular page was {{w}}ized in 2011, and the Brussels category was not created until 2012. Evidently, when we populated the category, we didn't add this article to it; however, there is a redundancy built in to the way {{w}} plays out: the template documentation specifically admonishes that when you're about to change a local {{w}} call to a hard local wikilink, if the article isn't already categorized in the target of the wikilink, consider carefully whether to add it to the cat.
  • It's a fair point that additional links might be appropriate. Suggestions?
  • Casting an objective eye on this interaction, it occurs to me that you two actually get along pretty well, and have pretty similar thinking on basic matters about the project, and a third party who doesn't know those things could easily think this little interaction was quite hostile. I'm not sure what to do with that insight, yet, but find it interesting.

To be honest, I felt it was. Burundi can and should be linked, which it is not. {{Testing}} exists to better handle this, BRS. Might want to have a look.

I notice {{testing}} doesn't depend on the various specialized templates showing up under Category:Protected edit requests. So that's consistent with the suggested third way. --Pi zero (talk) 15:50, 5 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
