Correction issued

I have updated the article with a correction. President Yoon's name was misspelled in one of the image descriptions. I did not self-sight the correction so another reviewer could check and sight it. —Michael.C.Wright (^Talk/_Published) 15:26, 12 December 2024 (UTC)

I just rolled back three edits, restoring the article to the last pending change, which is the issued correction mentioned above. The issued correction still needs to be approved/sighted and that action becomes difficult when multiple edits are pending review.

Serious sourcing issue

Lofi Gurl; Gryllida: Of the two cited sources, only the Reuters article verifies the focal event of this en.wn article, the first vote on impeachment (AP's implicit mention of it by way of discussing the potential for a second vote is insufficient). Focal event verification by at least two mutually independent, verifiable sources being one of the pillars of Wikinews writing, of course. (I also didn't find in Reuters support for "most" government lawmakers boycotting, or any other specific portion — it appears to be verified by the BBC nonetheless.) I recommend, following the similar precedent set by Germanwings crash victims identified (which I was sure we'd invoked recently but I guess we hadn't), a {{xambox}} along the lines of "This article fails to comply with Wikinews policy as it cites only one source that verifies the occurrence of its focal event. We have not discovered any resulting inaccuracies."

(Bringing in Michael.C.Wright for a multilateral discussion): Without pointing fingers at anyone, I've noticed over the past few months an increase in analysis or insufficient categorization in published articles. Please keep in mind that in addition to obviously not publishing analyses ourselves, by longstanding practice we don't report analyses unless we can attribute them to a specific party or parties ("Some speculated that Yoon's decision to declare martial law was motivated by his recent political adversity"), nor do we report analyses by news orgs (as, theoretically, their competitors, we've historically deemed their analyses equally un-newsworthy as ours).
