Comments by reviewer: According to WN:Source, "A synthesis article must have at least two mutually independent, trust-worthy sources verifying the focal news event of the article." The focal event of the lede is Mark Carney being sworn in as Prime Minister of Canada. The CBC article does not explicitly support this event—it confirms that Carney is Prime Minister but does not state when or how he was sworn in. Additionally, the article relies heavily on the BBC, with two of three sources coming from the same organization. Since the only non-BBC source contributes just one sentence (re: Carney's slimmed down cabinet), the article lacks sufficient diversity of viewpoints, failing to fully meet Wikinews’ neutral point of view policy. To address these issues, at least one additional independent source confirming the swearing-in should be added.
