Reporter's notes[edit]

I've been minimally involved with this show (off-and-on) for a while. I've voiced a few characters here and there, and have been friends with the show's producer for a while now. The show originally began airing exclusively at TogiNet Radio (the 'parent' of AstroNet Radio). --Bddpaux (talk) 14:39, 14 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
As a first reaction, sounds probably low-key enough not to create a COI problem, given the up-front disclosure. --Pi zero (talk) 15:02, 14 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
99% of what's in the lede, I simply know from about 400 conversations with the show's producer, George Jones. Technically, I came to know of him/the show when it was strictly featured at TogiNet Radio (the studio is located a short drive from my work). They would branch off to 'AstroNet' radio in late 2015. George also organizes various mini-conventions around East Texas (paranormal stuff, ComiCon, Celtic Festivals....things of that ilk). I've come to meet some of these people (professionals and amateurs) through some of those events--Bddpaux (talk) 17:25, 14 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The spin off bit at the end, George has told me that, but he also says as much during the intro to episode 100. His station has a little metric grid (I've seen it before) they use to capture downloads/metrics and the like. He states the show has had roughly 30,000 downloads since Day 1. ---Bddpaux (talk) 17:29, 14 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

name?[edit]

Is the name Paranoria, Texas, or Paranoria, TX? I poked around a bit and found http://astronetradio.com/shows/paranoriatx , but there it looks like the name uses TX. --Pi zero (talk) 21:24, 13 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I think technically, that's right. --Bddpaux (talk) 14:37, 14 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Questions[edit]

Q: I'll write an article about the show's 100th episode at Wikinews...... how's that sound?? A: Sounds good to me. We are really hoping to get people to take notice of the fact that we have been on the air for over a hundred episodes. It's far more than I thought I would ever do. It's the fans and my wonderful cast that keep me going.

So..............[I'll probably need to do some more questions down the road.....I'm going to try to time the publication with the ACTUAL release date].....so, we've got a little time.

Q: First, tell our readers about 'Paranoria, Texas'. A: paranoria I started out as a little show that could. we really didn't know what we were doing but we wanted to do Old School radio in a brand new format which consisted of a new script every week with a cast of voice actors. the result was a surprising hit and now the show has grown into something completely different than what it was in the beginning and we have followers Worldwide. the basic premise of the story is that there is a group of nerds who come together plotting to take over the world but end up saving it time and again.

Q: When did the idea for the show first come to you? I was called into the studio for an interview about one of my events and while I was there the DJ asked me if I had ever thought about doing a radio show myself. I had no idea what I was going to do but I was intrigued and after a little brainstorming and utilizing my own creativity the show was born.

Q: You've written most of the scripts, right? Has anyone else helped you with writing? A: I have written 90% of the scripts for the show. Eric Nivens, Alan Mendez, Jeremy Nagel and Matt McBride have also written a few Scripts. it gets tough running a brand new 20-page script every week but somehow we've managed for almost a hundred weeks. we thank God for fans who keep us going, otherwise it would not have made it for so long.
