Background[edit]

I think the article could stand to add the following text, but I can't find a source for it (just this stuff [1] Entertaining but less helpful):

Basketball is a popular sport in the United States. Like American Football, both college and professional ball draw live crowds and have considerable viewership on television. The NBA runs professional basketball and the NCAA runs college ball, which is played by university students. The March Madness tournament is part of college ball.

Does anyone know where we might find something like this? Thoughts on its propriety? The article is certainly publishable without it. I just think our international audience might benefit. Darkfrog24 (talk) 02:24, 13 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • The en.wp for March Madness claims that term is only used for the men's league. The users who maintain that part of en.wp can be pretty sexist, making the claim suspect, but then, there's a lot of sexist in the sport itself, so they may be right. I decided to allow the phrasing, though, on the theory it should be understandable anyway.

The reviewed revision should automatically have been edited by removing {{Review}} and adding {{Publish}} at the bottom, and the edit sighted; if this did not happen, it may be done manually by a reviewer.
