Notes

I created this in preparation for election results that are expected within hours. Although, available at this time, I did not include any "exit polls" conducted by other media. I won't be around to publish with the full results as they first become available, so assistance is requested. --SVTCobra 00:28, 7 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

I think that data and projected results from The Associated Press and CNN are reliable to start with - but at any rate the info is attributed to those sources in the article itself. Cirt - (talk) 00:30, 7 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
If you are able to stay on top of this, you can publish as breaking (but remove my note beneath the date). I am signing off very soon. --SVTCobra 00:37, 7 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hopefully others will help out as well, I have to go soon too. Cirt - (talk) 00:40, 7 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Italics

If sources are not to be italicized within the article text - then why are they italicized in the {{source}} template? Cirt - (talk) 00:33, 7 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

I think because the creators of that template thought all that would be listed in the pub paramater would be newspapers. I find that Wikipedia is pretty good at using italics when appropriate and vice versa. --SVTCobra 00:37, 7 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Do you know of a MOS regarding italics usage, or is this your opinion? It would be nice to clarify it, if it is written somewhere. Cirt - (talk) 00:40, 7 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
No not really. But if you look at w:The New York Times, you will find that "The New York Times", the newspaper is italicized, while the publisher "The New York Times Company" is not. Wikipedia might have a style guide, but to me it is pretty clear already. I guess it was my strict teachers as I wrote papers in school. --SVTCobra 00:45, 7 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
I did not mean a Wikipedia style guide, I meant something previously published on the subject. No worries, not a big deal. Cirt - (talk) 00:46, 7 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
At work we use the The Chicago Manual of Style, but I must admit, I haven't consulted it in years. I was gonna say that I don't know where you could find that online, but then I just found the 2003 version online ... courtesy of Ohio State University at this link: http://library.osu.edu/sites/guides/chicagogd.php It is not long and actually it is specifically on citing sources, and not the whole MoS. Have fun reading (I didn't), cheers --SVTCobra 00:56, 7 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Title

Think enough sources are reporting in, to re-title this article, or should we wait a bit longer? Cirt - (talk) 01:00, 7 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Go ahead. I am tuned out and not reading headlines anymore tonight. --SVTCobra 01:03, 7 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Changed to Obama projected winner in North Carolina primary, Indiana too early to call per reports from multiple major media sources - but feel free to change it. Cirt - (talk) 01:15, 7 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Why didn't you pubish immediately? (damn, i promised myself I be in bed by now). --SVTCobra 01:23, 7 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Oh, I guess I was deferring to others on that. Cirt - (talk) 02:41, 7 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

OOPs missed your comment, erm the numbers are from wikipedia and the gains are from http://edition.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results/dates/#20080506 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.35.192.193 (talk) 02:47, 7 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ah - well I still think it is too early to put a table like that in this article for the time being. Cirt - (talk) 03:23, 7 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
