Comments by reviewer: Since this article covers a controversial topic—religion, particularly Islam and its criticism—it requires careful and deliberate treatment. Our goal is to present the facts clearly, without implication or speculation. Below are specific concerns regarding accuracy and neutrality. Please see WN:NPOV (policy) and WN:Neutrality (an essay) for further guidance. The headline has the following issues:
An improved headline might be along the lines of the following: "Salwan Momika shot in Sweden apartment, dies at hospital" The lede has the following issues:
An improved lede might be along the lines of the following:
We should avoid assigning any label to Momika. The BBC article's lede assigns none and ET's lede calls him a refugee. The motive for his death has not been released and we should not imply it is associated with anti-islamic activity. We should also be consistent with what we call that activity. Our headline calls it anti-Islamic but the lede calls it Counter-jihad. Islam and Jihad are not interchangeable terms. Statements such as "Momika gained recognition..." should be attributed if used. The following statement is not supported by either source: "Athourities suggested the crime could have possibly been committed by a foreign entity." The BBC reports the following:
The following statement should be attributed: "Five people were said to have been apprehended in connection to Momika's death." Our article should answer the question, "Said by whom?"
Key Discrepancies: Place of death:
Focal framing:
The selected image of Momika primarily highlights his Quran-burning activities, making it unlikely to be interpreted as neutral. More neutral alternatives exist, such as cropped versions that reduce implications of motive or intent, like c:File:Salwan Momika in 2023 (cropped).jpg. We no longer use {{Wikipedia}}. It is a deprecated template that should be replaced by {{sisters}} in a new section titled "Sister links" inserted just above the section titled "Sources." Questions about the above? Ask. If possible, please address the above issues then resubmit the article for another review (by replacing {{tasks}} in the article with {{review}}). This talk page will be updated with subsequent reviews. |

Review of revision 4838550 [Passed]

Revision 4838550 of this article has been reviewed by Michael.C.Wright (talk · contribs) and has passed its review at 16:17, 5 February 2025 (UTC).
Comments by reviewer: I don't know that I've previously seen an article with so many different editors working together. Thank you all for contributing! Please see the edit history for changes I've made to comply with the style guide, to distance from sources, and to remove any implication of correlation or causation. News articles don't have to be dry and boring. However, at their core, they should just state the known facts. I recommended the use of {{sisters}} in my previous review. However, I missed the fact that it was a link to Momika's biography at Wikipedia, not a dedicated page about the focal event (his shooting). Therefore I think one link to the bio on the first mention of his full name is sufficient. Thanks again to all the contributors! The reviewed revision should automatically have been edited by removing {{Review}} and adding {{Publish}} at the bottom, and the edit sighted; if this did not happen, it may be done manually by a reviewer. |

Changes not sighted in time
[edit]I thought I had sighted the changes within the 24-hour window but it turns out I was 45 minutes too late. My apologies for causing a whipsaw of changes.
In addition to rolling back the erroneously sighted changes, the page will need to be moved back to its original headline. I'm not sure how to do that cleanly. Heavy Water, can you advise on the best way to do that? Thanks. —Michael.C.Wright (Talk/Reviewer) 21:34, 7 February 2025 (UTC)
