Comments by reviewer: The part about Congress isn't really part of the story, it's just juxtaposed as an editorial comment — which is POV. But then, the impression one gets is that the whole reason for compiling a detailed litany of recent suicides is to juxtapose it with what Congress is doing, so that the neutrality problem causes a newsworthiness difficulty. The suicides come across as an ongoing process, albeit an appalling one —note the word continue in the lede, and the word isn't the problem, it's a symptom— which falters on the "specific" criterion for a news event (specific, relevant, and fresh). More like continental drift than an earthquake. I'm frustrated that I can't think out how to frame a clearly newsworthy neutral story here.
