Original reporting notes
[edit]I arrived at the protest at 11:30 a.m. to document and interview the people attending the protest. I followed the protesters until the march reached Waterfront Park where I remained for the rest of the time I was there. I left at 1:20 p.m.
Interview Details
While I was there, I interview 4 people. I asked them why they were there, their views of the administration and if they had any views of the current immigration situation in the U.S. The people interviewed were not marching but protesting away from the march. All people interviewed were aware that they were being interviewed and gave permission to record the interview.
The audio file for the interviews can be found here on commons. Note that for simplicity all 4 interviews have been combined on 1 audio file.
Photographs
I took several photos along various points in the protest. Thinkstationx220 (talk) 19:14, 15 June 2025 (UTC)
Neutrality edits while awaiting review
[edit]While the article waits for a review, consider improving the article's neutrality. See WN:NPOV (policy) and WN:Neutrality (essay) for guidance.
Some phrasing in wikivoice risks implying editorial endorsement of protester views. For example, the article should avoid generalized assertions like “some protesters have been personally affected…” unless clearly attributed. Better: “One attendee said they were personally affected by Trump administration policies.”
Please consider:
- Revising wikivoice phrases to clarify that claims reflect the views of attendees (e.g., “One attendees said…”).
- Attributing the attendance estimate of "60,000".
- Providing brief context on the "No Kings" movement, including who organized the protest.
Direct quotes don't need balancing, but the overall framing of the event should remain neutral. —Michael.C.Wright (Talk/Reviewer) 01:08, 17 June 2025 (UTC)
Review of revision 4864661 [Passed]
[edit]| |
Revision 4864661 of this article has been reviewed by Michael.C.Wright (talk · contribs) and has passed its review at 17:22, 18 June 2025 (UTC).
Comments by reviewer: During review, unsupported statements were removed or revised for accuracy, including claims about international protests and the protest’s official end time. The participant count was updated to reflect revised reporting from CBS8, and “peaceful protest” was attributed to San Diego Police Chief Scott Wahl. The lede was broken into two paragraphs for readability. Formatting fixes included time style corrections per WN:Style, removal of {{verify}} templates and HTML comments, and conversion of inappropriate {{w}} links to direct local links. See the edit history for details. As a reminder, when conducting original reporting, please introduce yourself as an independent author or researcher—not as a representative of Wikinews, per WN:OR. The reviewed revision should automatically have been edited by removing {{Review}} and adding {{Publish}} at the bottom, and the edit sighted; if this did not happen, it may be done manually by a reviewer. |
