Bias/NPOV[edit]

I know Wikinews does not have guidelines yet for movie reviews, etc. In fact, there is history of any such articles immediately being candidates for deletion. Let's see if we can figure out a way to get reviews, and preview articles, acceptable on Wikinews.

This article is not, yet, balanced and needs to be looked at for bias. For example, "Highly anticipated"? Who has said this? Who anticipates? - Amgine/talk 01:04, 25 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Moved to a new name. Edited text to make everybody happy. --TiB 16:21, 25 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Thanks! We're working on cleaning up the linking, and hope to have this back up in the next hour or so. - Amgine/talk 17:28, 25 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Okay, it has been further edited a couple times; undoubtedly it could use some more eyes, so I'm putting it up for editors to see, too. Thanks for the article TB0n3! - Amgine/talk 18:47, 25 Apr 2005 (UTC)

News release poses an interesting contrast[edit]

The title change is designed to promote the release of thr trailer, but also to convey that Fans of the show may not wish to see the Trailer, as it may spoil the movie for them. I tried to rewrite the article to appeal to those that are not yet fans of Joss Whedon's work (like myself). While I had heard of Angel and Buffy, I would not have connected Firefly/Serenity with those shows. So this trailer announcement should appeal to non-fans, and warn fans. I am interested in differing opinions, as well.

I enjoyed the article and have seen a few Firefly episodes before they canceled it. It was a pretty good show. I see no problem with having "movie reviews" on Wikinews, all news outlets do that sort of thing. We are of course under no obligation to "pimp for Hollywood" and need only review or announce whatever seems newsworthy to us. DouglasGreen 03:21, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)
