I wrote this article. It is based on my observations from attending the rally. You can visit my user page, Rrenner, on Wikipedia.

I've tried to revise the first paragraph and run into a problem, which I assume what you have listed as "External links" contains a resolution to. As you'll see for the inline link to Indymedia that you had, I've moved this to a sources section and used a specific template to cite it. I'll take a look at what other links should be cited as sources and do that - but for the time being I've moved it to develop. Key point to resolve is the claim that 500,000 protested in LA, I've not yet seen that sourced. --Brian McNeil / talk 19:40, 28 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Illegal" immigrants[edit]

The legislation does not relate to legal immigrants at all; thus neither do the demonstrations; so, we should be careful not to mislead. Rather than tag I wil try to remedy this. Neutralizer 17:44, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Undocumented" would be improper. "Illegal" is the correct terminology. For example, there were fires that destroyed many documents of thousands of American immigrants - some are still "undocumented", but they are all still legally here.--MrMiscellanious (talk) – 19:34, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Length[edit]

This article, simply enough, is too short to be considered a complete article. There is very little content in here about the rally, which is showcased in the title. Factual inaccuracies[edit]

  • "7000 rally"
  • [1] States only 3 thousand participants, not seven.
  • "US Senate, HR 4437, which would make it a felony to be an illegal alien, or to help illegal aliens."
  • Incorrect, the bill does not make it a felony charge for those who "help" illegal immigrants, generally (there are exceptions, obviously, but not as broad as it is represented).
  • "Organizers also called for true immigration reform that would provide a path to citizenship for all immigrant workers."
  • Area highlighted above shows a statement that is undoubtedly opinionated, and therefore is not acceptable to our policies.

Once again, adding the cleanup tag and pushing this to development. This article, as it is currently and how it has been in the past 10 days, is seriously flawed and does not meet to Wikinews' standards. --MrMiscellanious (talk) – 02:31, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
