@Gryllida: Something I would hope to see a bit about in the lede of a news article: how unusual is this event? Someone who isn't into astronomy might wonder if this is something that happens once every few months, once every few years, once every few decades, or what. --Pi zero (talk) 11:40, 31 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the suggestion Pi zero. Now I have done a crude attempt at this. It could be best to also mention, in background, what was or would be the second longest eclipse this century, and what was one or two longest ones previous century, but I am running out of energy for today. Again thanks for your consideration of the story for review. Gryllida (talk) 12:13, 31 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The pictures are crazy good, but the formatting of the article seems a bit disjointed. I have been harking on readability on several articles. Think like a reader. What do you want your reader to see first, second, and so on? The placement of media and text should serve as a tool in conveying the information. If a picture speaks a 1000 words, that is 1000 words you do not have to write and can go onto other aspects of the story. AZOperator (talk) 16:06, 31 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Longest in the 21st century[edit]

According to whom, Gry?

  • Hello Acagastya.
It is according to these two sources:
Also see [1], [2], [3].
And w:List of 21st-century lunar eclipses provides exact duration of each eclipse this century.
It does not look like this fact is wrong.
If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask.
