Advice request

[edit]

This is my first article and any criticism/advice would be greatly appreciated Jeffery farmer (talk) 14:47, 28 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

Jeffery farmer, thank you for starting your first article! This is a good start.
Rather than fail it on the first go, I've moved it back to the develop queue so it can be further developed. A few specific things to note:
  1. We don't publish analysis or speculation unless we can attribute it to an individual. For example; "John Doe, political analyst thinks the meeting was productive" is okay but "The meeting was productive" would be analysis on our part and unacceptable. We also don't publish other news organizations analysis or speculation. So if CNN says "The meeting was productive" we don't say "CNN said the meeting was productive."
  2. All information must be sourced, per WN:Source. This might seem picky, but neither of the sources say the talks started Wednesday the 26th and concluded Thursday the 27th. Consider using {{verify}} to indicate the source for every statement in the article. That will help the review process and also get you into the habit of verifying all facts before submitting for review.
  3. We have specific requirements in our style guide regarding dates. The dates in the sources section should be formatted according to the style guide.
Check out WN:5Ws, WN:Style, and WN:Source and then go back through the article and make sure everything complies with each as best you can. See if you can find a good infobox for the article and even an image from commons to dress it up a bit. Add two or three categories to help associate the article with similar content.
Once you are ready for it to be reviewed, feel free to change {{develop}} to {{review}}. Let me know if you have any questions! There's a steep learning curve but as you work through it, it becomes easier. —Michael.C.Wright (Talk/Reviewer) 16:22, 28 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
I appreciate your advice, and will resolve the issues with my article.
Thank you for taking the time to write a useful and well thought out response. Jeffery farmer (talk) 19:14, 28 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

King's Letter to Trump

[edit]

Based on this photograph by Simon Dawson/10 Downing Street and this one by Chris Keplonis/Getty, I was able to transcribe most of what His Majesty wrote:

Dear Donald,

I just wanted to write and thank you for receiving====
in Washington so soon after your Inauguration. Given the====
breadth of challenges across the world, I can only think that====
of our two countries has a vital role to play in promoting and====
the values which matter so much to us all.

I remember with great fondness your visits to the United Kingdom
during your previous Presidency, and recall our nascent plan for you to
visit Dumfries House, in Scotland, as the global pandemic began and all
bets - and flights! - were off... I can only say that it would be a great
pleasure to extend that invitation once again, in the hope that you might at
some stage be visiting Turnberry and a detour to a relatively near
neighbour might not cause you too much inconvenience. An alternative
might perhaps be for you to visit Balmoral, if you are calling in at Menie.
There us much on both Estates which I think you might find interesting
and enjoy - particularly as my Foundation at Dumfries House provides
hospitality skills-training for young people who often end up as staff in
your own establishments!

Quite apart from this presenting an opportunity to discuss a wide
range of issues of mutual interest, it would also offer a valuable chance to
plan a historic second State Visit to the United Kingdom. As you will
====, this is unprecedented by a U.S. President. That is why I would find
it helpful for us to be able to discuss, together, a range of options for

location and programme content. In so doing, working together, I know
we will further enhance the special relationship between our two countries,
of which we are both so proud.

Yours Most Sincerely

Charles R
