Really interesting story. Paulrevere2005 22:10, 18 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Here is a fantastic and generally not believed 2002 interview with a naval officer(ONI) (re; his pre-9/11 knowledge) conducted by Michael Rupert [[1]] which may or may not be related to the Shaffer story. I find the interviewee's answers riveting. [[2]] Paulrevere2005 22:24, 18 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The above links are always getting shut down somehow. Here are mirror sites[[3]] for Rupert's credentials and[[4]]for the interview. And another more detailed report on Vreeland's "warning note"[[5]]
I personally emailed the 9/11 commission liason in 2003 suggesting they talk to Vreeland or at least retrieve the original copy of the early warning note off of Vreeland's Toronto court file. As far as I know they did neither; I only received a response that the liason was away for a week and would be in touch when he returned; that was the last I heard about it.Paulrevere2005 02:29, 19 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

headline is wrong[edit]

I have heard no claims whatsoever that the Able Danger project detected the "9/11 plot". They are talking about warning of the existence of a terrorist cell in the US. Nobody claims that they knew what they were up to.

  • You're right, the specific plot was not identified. At the time an increase in activity had been noticed so there was suspicion that something was being prepared, but details were unknown. (SEWilco 05:38, 19 August 2005 (UTC))[reply]

Move article[edit]

The update should be in its own article, and date should be changed to 24 August. Correct me if I'm wrong. Theshibboleth 05:07, 24 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
