Factual accuracy
[edit]An anon is claiming this article is incorrect based on http://nazret.com/blog/index.php?title=upi_s_erroneous_report_on_ethiopia&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1 —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Bawolff (talk • contribs)
- UN seems to say the same thing: http://www.un.org/apps/news/story.asp?NewsID=32858&Cr=mdg&Cr1= Bawolff ☺☻ 02:28, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
- Hm. UPI is effectively the only source here; the second source, [1], also attributes the figure to UPI (although I could have sworn that it didn't when I wrote up the article, i would have noticed that). Perhaps a {{correction}} notice is warranted? Tempodivalse [talk]
- No correction until something more credible than a blog turns up. In the meantime, who pays for this Ethiopian blog? Remember guys, follow the money. --Brian McNeil / talk 03:12, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
- But, a look at the official UN site article seems to back up the blog's claim, there is no mention of Ethiopia there but the GDP refers to Africa as a whole. Tempodivalse [talk] 03:17, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
- <cough> Of course, we *could* look for the original UN report and cite it directly... - Amgine | t 03:13, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
- The UN press release seems more credible than a blog. The actual UN report would be better - but there site seems down. Bawolff ☺☻ 03:18, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
- Uh-oh. UPI has now changed its article to say that Africa, not just Ethiopia, recorded that growth. Looks like a {{correction}} notice might be in order here. Tempodivalse [talk] 20:02, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
