  • The lede says Flake "[cited] division within the [...] Republican Part and his conflicts with President Donald Trump." Consulting the sources (or anything else I've heard, as a sanity check), I do not see support for the claim that he cited either of those things, and the things he apparently did say about the Party and about Trump are different than stated in the lede. Then the lede says that the Trump administration (or the "White House", but I was concerned that international readers might not be able to understand what the sentence was about when stated that way) attributes the decision to limited support, but it wasn't clear to me that they claimed that was why he did it. Saying he didn't have enough support to win reelection is not the same as saying that's why he decided not to run.

Replacing "divisions" with the word "issues" looks like it would address this matter. I see "divisions" as summarizing, not interpreting, but there's nothing wrong with being highly rigorous. Darkfrog24 (talk) 22:36, 25 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Flake has recently published a book, Conscience of a Conservative: A Rejection of Destructive Politics and a Return to Principle[edit]

I had no idea The Conscience of a Conservative "is a 1960 book published under the name of Arizona Senator and 1964 Republican presidential candidate Barry Goldwater. It reignited the American conservative movement, made Goldwater a political star, and has influenced countless conservatives in the United States, helping to lay the foundation for the Reagan Revolution of the 1980s."
