I am not sure of Wikinews policy on dialects. I did change spelling though.

As the interview was via phone, would any of these corrections be inline with the taped version?

Unfortunately there is no taped version. I used my home phone for it (i'd lost my mobile, which is able to record conversations). I'm not sure if my home phone can record converstions.

If this is how the questions were presented to the person being interviewed, then I don't think Grammar is too much of an issue.
