What exactly creative commons license?
[edit]There are many Creative Commons licenses, with different stances on derivative, commercial and share-alike works. Some of them are not free licenses. Please specify due to http://www.gnu.org/licenses/license-list.html#which-cc
- It's not clear from the news sources. The article says that users will have the option of licensing their self-made videos under a CC BY license, but it's unclear to me what licenses the C-SPAN, Al Jazeera, et al videos will be released under. My guess is that, similar to Flickr and Wikimedia Commons, YouTube videos will be released under different kinds of CC licenses, depending on the wishes of the uploader. Public domain might also be an option, given that Voice of America, as a US federal government agency, cannot claim copyright. Ragettho (talk) 06:38, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
