Template:WNIR
((RS))
Usage
[edit]This is sometimes used at the beginning of each response in a question-and-answer-style interview. Optionally, provide a parameter identifying the respondent; we recommend using full name (both first and last), though historically initials or last-name-only have been used. The template does provide a default when the parameter isn't provided, though this is not ordinarily used.
Stylistic variants
[edit]In recent practice, this template represents one of two common stylistic alternatives for responses in a question-and-answer-style interview. The other technique commonly seen is to prefix each response with an indenting double-colon and boldfaced respondent-identifier. Here are a few lines in each of the two styles (these use boldfaced questions and non-bold responses, which is typically done to provide visual cues for the reader; and colons after the label, which is especially common in the style that doesn't use {{WNIR}} but is also found with this template):
((Bridgekeeper)) : Stop. Who would cross the Bridge of Death must answer me these questions three, ere the other side he see.
((Sir Lancelot)) : Ask me the questions, bridgekeeper. I am not afraid.
((Bridgekeeper)) : What... is your name?
((Sir Lancelot)) : My name is Sir Lancelot of Camelot.
((Bridgekeeper)) : What... is your quest?
- Sir Lancelot: To seek the Holy Grail.
((Bridgekeeper)) }: What... is your favourite colour?
- Sir Lancelot: Blue.
