Deletion?[edit]

Many of us Wikinewsies worked extremely hard to get images released specifically to Wikinews and to a specific article. Many of us also went through hell in a hand-basket to get them without paying for them. Since everyone's version of "free" is differnt, we cannot just simply wipe away these images.

We are a News Agency and have certain requirements that we need to be able to report news in a logical and informative way. These images are exclusive to WIkinews (as a news reporting agency) and they were "free" in the sense that we would have to be just like the AP and Reuters ETC and pay for the exclusive images.

It makes no sense to have most of these images deleted and if we do, then the work we put into getting them was worthless to the project as a whole...IMO... DragonFire1024 01:53, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Broken who added[edit]

I tried to have the template tell who added it to an image page. This didn't work, as it seems to tell who edited the template last, or something. Computron added one but it showed my nickname. Please look into it (does subst'ing Gol image work? Are there some saner ways to do that?) --Gryllida 22:24, 17 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

There are some clever tricks that can be used for stuff like that. The last time I played games of that general ilk was when fiddling with {{PeP applied}}. --Pi zero (talk) 23:11, 17 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Possibly the approach wanted is that of {{aband}} and {{unprep}}. --Pi zero (talk) 23:22, 17 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
