Fascinating interview

If microbes or any simple forms of life could possibly survive on Mars with so little oxygen, I still wonder how they could survive the deadly radiation from solar wind, if they're exposed on the surface of Mars. The Martian atmosphere only has 1% the density of that of Earth. Also, I wonder if Stamenkovic has considered that Martian life could be comprised of combinations of molecules different from the forms of life we have on Earth.
