I put it to a certain ex-procurator fiscal (Scottish prosecutor) I'm related to that it must be very hard to prove arsons, and he stated that most of the people who commit this type of offence make big mistakes. He stated that it is rare to be unable to find strong evidence leading to culprits in arsons against dwellings.
