At least four people died as a string of tornadoes tore through parts of Texas several miles east of Dallas on Saturday. The National Weather Service later confirmed at least seven tornadoes stuck the area.

Radio broadcasts were interrupted shortly after 5:00pm Saturday, advising residents of the town of Eustace to seek shelter immediately. Residents were also warned to avoid driving in the area, for safety reasons. One tornado reportedly covered a 51-mile stretch as it moved. Reports indicated one man died in his truck, while checking on his livestock.

The local Red Cross set up two shelters nearby for those displaced by the storm. On Sunday, a man told Wikinews he'd visited family in Canton and they said one of the tornadoes passed within fifty yards of their home. Canton reportedly received the most severe damage during the storm.
