User:Brent Dax/Linear skin

Linear (a working name) is a Wikinews skin I'm working on. The basic goals are to:

• Match the fairly stark look of most news sites.
• Maximize the amount of screen space devoted to the page's content.

A few things:

• I'm developing this on an old, incomplete dump of Wikinews; that's why the articles are old and the images are missing.
• The user's name is a drop-down menu containing "my talk", "preferences", and so on.
• I still need to do a few more things:
  • Port many omitted style rules over from MonoBook
  • Make it work properly in Internet Explorer
  • Complete testing and tweaking in other browsers
  • Find a better way to extract the category information
  • Convince myself it's actually good enough
