Planned Focus[edit]
My planned focus for my article will be based on a new study published by the University of Otago, Wellington, New Zealand who has mapped the visibility of smoking in the capital city. I would like to talk about the impact of the study in decreasing the normality of smoking in public.

- I would like to interview a professor in the biology department about the pollution caused by smoking.
- I would also like to interview local establishment who have decided to continue to be smoke free and how they feel about public smoking.
- Media: I would like to take photos of a local establishment as well as conduct a video interview with my biology professor.
What can I bring to this?[edit]
As a former smoker I can see both sides of the spectrum and have an interest of the pollution as well as the health effects of public smoking and smoking in general. I would am curious to see what experts have to say about the topic and the angles that this particular study has taken. I am in a environmental conservation class so I could easily get an interview. I also have a friend that owns a local bar, so I would be able to get an interview with him as well.
