- Write in simpler English. Many new users are foreigners.
- Write only what is absolutely essential. Do not involve discussions at article talk if it does not help to work on the article.
- Provide action items. Each request should contain clear instructions what action should be taken to address an issue.
- Double-take or double-dive for each action items. "Check that article complies with content guide and style guide" is not helpful. Provide specifics of which part should be modified and how.
- Stay tuned. Click 'subscribe' on that talk page and on that section, so that for new replies and questions, you get a notification. Check your notifications regularly as a prolific discussion is likely to happen fast, while news is still fresh, and may require your active involvement in it.
- Aim to avoid proposing two action items and leaving article reporter confused.
- Prioritize working towards publishing. If one action item is better than another because it improves publishing outcome, then clearly specify this in your message to reduce ambiguity.
- When replying to some request, make it clear whether you are planning to do it, if so, then by when. Do not just say 'fine, this can be done, I was confused'. Actually aim to do it and re-submit article for review if possible.
- If planning to be away, please also leave a note, it will help to involve other users.
