Welcome[edit]
Wikinews desperately needs more gutsy reporters; please give the project as much time as you can spare. Neutralizer 22:02, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
- I shall start having a larger role in Wikinews and Wikipedia alike. --Cameron 18:06, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
Have you read that story? -Edbrown05 01:16, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
- Yes... I wrote it. ~ clearthought 01:21, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
- I know, look at it two days from now (and it's links). -Edbrown05 01:36, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
- I am sorry, but I fail to see exactly what you are getting at. The story is ongoing and developing and when a new, major development comes, I will make a new article. At this and previous development points, it would have been too hard to just start a new article and continue having to do so, especially since I seem to be [one of] the only people reporting on this. As for the links, I want to provide as many sources along the road and some may end up getting deleted once the story progresses enough for a new article to be made. ~ clearthought 01:40, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
- If you would like to help, please do. Otherwise, talking won't solve anything. ~ clearthought 01:42, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
- Dang, yer good... after my wife is done forcing me to do something, I'll be back at that article of yers that I once had opened in an editting window, with some substantial edits... wondering if I'll hit that high point for it again. -Edbrown05 02:08, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
- Umm... OK, LOL. ~ clearthought 02:59, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

2nd Lead[edit]
I'm a bit concerned regarding your comment made against the changing of the second lead from the multilated body story to the Manhattan one. (Aussie story from July 9 not for this area... moved NY building story to second lead)
Firstly it wasn't an Aussie story it was one from New Zealand. Secondly the comment seemed to imply that because it was only an Aussie story, then it doesn't belong on the main page. Hopefully this isn't what you meant but I thought I'd enquire... --R2b2 23:15, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
- No, I did not mean any rudeness to Australia or New Zealand or the people of those countries... it was just that there was much more breaking, recent news. I just meant that a building collapsing only a bit earlier this day is viewed - IMO - as bigger news than a homicide in New Zealand that was reported by the media outlets on the 9th. Once again, I meant no offense towards anyone and I am sorry if I was interpreted as a person indifferent to the events of Australia or other nations. Lastly, that article needed some cleanup (it sounded like a police report) and I, personally, did not think it should have been the second lead. ~ clearthought 23:21, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
- That's cool - thought that's what you were meaning but just wanted to make sure (just remember to not insult New Zealanders by calling us Aussies lol :) ) --R2b2 23:25, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed[edit]
Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Cafzal. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Cafzal~enwikinews that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
