Response to revision[edit]

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to respond to my first article on Wikinews. I was wondering if you could give me some help with addressing the points you raised in your review.

Firstly, after some brief research I was able to find two other sources for the story:

These were the only other articles on the story I could find on Google News. Would these be adequate independent sources to make the article acceptable?

Secondly, you mentioned that the lede doesn't answer the basic question of "when". The article I sourced from the Sydney Morning Herald says the decision was made "in a meeting on Wednesday". Would including this in the lede (worded differently to flow with the rest of it) satisfy the question?

Putting these questions to one side, here's what I intend to do:

  • Update the lede to include information about Australia Network and answer the "when" question
  • Include the new source (namely the article from The Guardian); and
  • Move the ABC Charter link to the Source section of the article

By doing these steps, would this improve the quality of the article to make it pass the next review? Thanks for the help.

Hm. That sounds like a pretty good try at resolving the problems, yet off hand I can think of at least three things that could go wrong. I hope to take a look in a few minutes (I need to eat atm). --Pi zero (talk) 16:19, 10 May 2014 (UTC)

I think I'll take the comments you've left here in the review on board, cut my losses, and abandon the article. Thanks for the constructive criticism you've left, it will be useful for when I have another shot at writing an article. --David Blayney (talk) 02:15, 11 May 2014 (UTC)
