Welcome[edit]

Irishpunktom, welcome to Wikinews! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Here a few pointers to help you get to know Wikinews:

There are always things to do on Wikinews:

By the way, you can sign your name on Talk pages using four tildes (~~~~), which produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, you can ask them at the water cooler or to anyone on the Welcommittee, or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome! --Mrmiscellanious 14:58, 22 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi[edit]

User:Amgine/Welcome

I'm removing the article Hundreds of people gather in support of Mikhail Khodorkovsky from publication because you disputed it for NPOV. Could you please explain on the talk page how the article is NPOV? that would help us get it ready for publication. - Amgine/talk 17:24, 16 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

About article creation[edit]

Thanks very much for some great article starts!

I've removed them from the archive because only completed articles are published to the archive date. Articles which are still developing are on the main page in the Developing stories, so other editors can concentrate on expanding them and getting them ready for publication. You can add new articles to the Developing stories list either from the main page or from the article workspace as well. Thanks again for the contributions! - Amgine/talk 17:41, 16 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hiya! I've made substantial changes to the above article. Please review our Neutral point of view policy, as well as our other policies and guidelines. Thanks! --Mrmiscellanious 14:58, 22 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Editing long published articles[edit]

Perhaps we're wrong... I'm not even looking at the article, just the date. Published articles should not be edited... --Chiacomo (talk) 06:22, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm having serious problems reconcling our policy to archive (and not change) published articles with the fact that the article is inaccurate. We have published inaccurate or incorrect news before -- but we're trying to create an archival record of Wikinews publications as well... even when we goof. I will add a correction to the top of the article. --Chiacomo (talk) 06:28, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
