Trends in Japan: Purikura evolves into videkura[edit]

Trends in Japan: Purikura evolves into videkura has the potential of becoming a decent original reporting article if you follow the Wikinews:Style guide. Right now it is just an advertisement for the market research that your company does. --SVTCobra 03:26, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

hi, ok i am new. maybe you could give me some advise with your comment. where eaxctly do you think i put advertisement? i am mentioning nothing about my work. the link i placed is my private homepage in which i post articles completely researched by myself for FREE. My work is related to what i write in my private life of course and you will find links on my homepage that link to my business. but thats in the end also what bbc, cnn or any other journalist is doing. then you would need to almost delete all articles. i am sure you also have some work you get paid for and it might be related to what you write in private... but maybe you mean sth else and we can find a way that satisfies you and me? please let me know... thank you, sven

I was going to work on the article. But now it has been deleted. A few things needed to be changed, one of which was to add the OR tag for Original Reporting. Also, I think the pic that where uploaded did have the proper copyright release. I think they were your own pictures and thus fine to use, but they need to be identified correctly. I don't want to discourage you from trying again, with this or another article. Of course, they are not typical news to begin with. More like cultural interest stuff, but I don't think that necessarily goes against Wikinews' mission, but then, I am rather new here too. --SVTCobra 21:37, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
thanks a lot for the good and constructive comments and advice. this helps a lot. yes, unfortunately it was deleted but i will try again with these in a different way...or better some other news that better fit...thanks again and cheers, sven
  • It is inappropriate to add material about an event or organisation which you are involved with, such as in a position as an employee. I have looked at the removed article and I would advise reading the above links and looking at our lead articles to see how things are done around here. The neutral point of view policy does not allow for editorial or press-release type articles. --Brian McNeil / talk 17:15, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
interesting...especially since BBC is stated as an example here on wikinews. It is really new to me that BBC is a non-profit organisation. Linking to BBC would thus directly be against the wikinews policies because BBC is selling advertising space and is a full profit large media company. I am not involved with the company or an event that I was writing about. How about I am asking a friend to write an article about sth i post on my blog? That`s ok? Rules have to make sense but usually they don`t...have a nice day
