User talk:Macai~enwikinews
Welcome[edit]
Glad to see you here, and editing. Here are a few items I've found useful Getting started. The tutorial on writing an article has some great steps to follow, as well as some templates which will help simplify writing articles. The workspace is a great way to interest others in helping out on your article idea, or to find articles you can collaborate on. If you need help working with Wikinews, or have ideas to improve Wikinews, consider the Water cooler.
You can always contact me through my talk page. A nifty trick is use ~~~ to sign your message - 3 of them will be replaced with your username as a link, 4 will also put a time stamp to say when you signed it. And have fun!
Also i notice that you didnt include any references in your "Grey Wolves are Still Protected by the Endangered Species Act" article. We have a policy here that all articles must have references, so that other users can verify your information. You can add references to an article by including the following:
==Reference==
*{{source|url=http://www.example.org/stuff.html
|pub=Example News Organisation
|author=John Bloggs
|title=Example Title Name
|date=03 January 2005}}
Obviously you would replace all the values in that with what ever they are for the article(s) or websites that you used as sources for you information. Have a good one. The bellman 22:22, 4 Feb 2005 (UTC)
I'm sorry[edit]
Hello,
I'm sorry about doing things incorrectly, I'll read the information given soon, and learn how to properly do things here.
Sincerely,
Macai
Your account will be renamed[edit]
Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Macai. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Macai~enwikinews that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
