The Wikinews top article challenge is an initiative to encourage more frequent publication of news articles. Each month, we recognize the article with the highest page views, celebrating the efforts of contributors and promoting high-quality journalism.
Objectives
Increase the number of published articles each month.
Encourage contributors to write timely and engaging stories.
Recognize and reward articles that attract high readership.
Promote collaboration and friendly competition among Wikinews contributors.
How It Works
All published articles during the month are automatically entered.
Midway through the following month, the article with the highest page views (as recorded by the Pageviews Analysis tool) is highlighted.
All contributors to the top article receive recognition, and a barnstar is awarded.
