Wikinews:CopyvioRemovalBacklog
At WN:AAA there was an open discussion about removing alleged copyright violations from published and archived articles. The latest version now is that a sysop needs to locate an edit-protected request, immediately action it with a 'correction' issued, self sight the edit, and post a message somewhere asking for another reviewer to note 'yes this was okay' or 'no, this was wrong, here is what needs to be done' (usually another reviewer would need to sight the edit, but with protected pages this does not work, it has to be an admin).
The table below is meant to track which articles require revision for removal of copyrighted material. This is somehow evident from Category:Archived by Gryllida (which Gryllida made in response to recent increase to vandalism of published articles, and as Leaderboard's script was down for months) and from Category:Protected edit requests (though this is all requests, not only those for copyright violations).
Noting that in response to one instance Gryllida added link to earwig copyvio checker into the review and developing templates, on April 22, 2025. As of today (May 25, 2025), this link consistently is visible in the develop template, but is not consistently visible in review template, for some reason.
Table to be added shortly.
Why is visual editor not available for this page? I would like to add table with columns:
1. article title and link
2. column for 'Yes, a sysop&reviewer did it and self sighted'
3. column for 'Yes, another reviewer okayed it'
