Wikinews:Easy Peer Review (2025 version)/Post Publication Review
The Post Publication Changes Review (PPCR) is a feature of the EzPR 2025 script that provides an interface for reviewing and approving or rejecting edits made to an article after it has been published. It does not introduce any new functionality beyond what the default approach already offers, but adds a structured interface and notification system to streamline the review process.
To get started, navigate to the p-menu of a published article that has pending changes. An option labeled "Post Publication Review" will appear, click it to open the PPCR dialog interface.
PPCR Interface
Article and Changes Info
This section displays basic information about the article and its pending edits, including when the article was last sighted and by whom, when it was last published, the total byte difference, and other relevant details.
Review Logs
This section lists all available review action logs for the article, such as approvals and rejections. Each log entry displays details about the action, including the reviewer's name, timestamp, comment, and tag.
Pending Edits Log
This is the main section of the interface. It displays all edits made after the last stable revision in a structured and visually organized layout, helping reviewers easily assess changes and make informed decisions.
Each edit card includes information about the editor who made the edit, the timestamp, edit summary, and revision ID. Three action buttons are available for each edit:
- Compare: Opens a diff view showing the differences between that edit and the one preceding it.
- Approve to here: Makes the selected revision the new stable version. This allows reviewers to serially approve each revision after comparing and verifying it. Whichever revision is approved becomes the new stable version.
- Revert to here: Replaces the current article content with the content of the selected revision. This creates a new edit on the article, which is automatically sighted.
Bulk Actions
If you prefer not to review each edit individually, this section offers three quick options. Click "Approve current" to directly sight the current version, click "Revert to stable" to revert the article back to the last stable version.
Confirmation and Comment Section
When you click any action button: such as "Approve to here", "Revert to here", "Approve current", or "Revert to stable", a confirmation section will appear.
For revert actions, the following options are available:
- Sight the revert edit: If checked, the new revert edit will be automatically sighted.
- Log action on talk page: If checked, the action will be logged on the article's talk page.
- Notify the users: If checked, users associated with the reverted edits will be notified. You can choose from three notification methods: posting a message on the user's talk page, pinging them in the edit summary, or pinging them in the article talk page log.
- For approve actions, only the "Log action on talk page" option is shown. The other two options are not available for approval actions.
Comment: Enter a comment or select one from the provided suggestions. This will be used as the edit summary for the action.
Finally, click the "Confirm" button and wait a few seconds for the action to complete.
