Wikinews:Migration
In light of WMF hosting of Wikinews going away it is necessary to arrange for migration off-site to continue news work. Considerations are listed below. Please add your comments and volunteer at talk page.
1. Name and geographical location of new hosting.

2. Volunteers willing to pay for new hosting. This can be from charities, Wikimedia Charters, or personal expenses.

3. Volunteers willing to do budgeting and accounting: find out how much this will cost.
- 2 users (in part); to be updated
4. System administration to install software and work around security vulnerabilities
- 1 user; to be updated
5. Confirmation of name. Are we allowed to use Wikinews trademark
- in discussion
6. Feature requirements
- anyone can make or edit a page
- peer review (currently done via flagged revs)
- able to include images from Wikimedia Commons
- able to translate to other languages
- different mods/admins in different language sections
- a few days after published, a page becomes read-only
