Does Wikinews have or plan to have an RSS Feed ?[edit]

Yes! Currently there is some RSS functionality; more is under development and discussion.

Are the news submitted by the users? and how are news items hyperlinked to reference pages?[edit]

Yes, Wikinews may be submitted by anyone. All articles are produced by the people who visit this site, and anyone may edit any article.

Sources (news articles or other online documents which are not part of the Wikimedia family of websites) are linked using the following syntax: [url text to disply]. An example might be [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page English Wikipedia] which ends up looking like: English Wikipedia

Wikimedia articles or documents, and other wiki sites, can be linked to more simply using interwiki links. From Wikinews, articles on Wikipedia can be made using the local link format, but prefixing a "w:" to the link. So [[w:Wikipedia:Manual of Style]] Links to the Wikipedia:Manual of Style.

Articles which are on Wikinews may also be linked to, using the regular [[Article title]] format. You can find much more help at How to edit a page, for basics, and the Wikinews:Workspace is a good place to create your article and get help with writing, editing, and publishing it.
