Please replace the page with updated page below (see EDIT screen to see the new version, text is commented out and does not show on this page as it is a copy of the complete article). The original article includes numbers prefixed with 00 (instead of +). 00 is not the universal international access code. The + should be used, see ITU-T Recommendation E.123. Many of the numbers listed were ambiguous as to the area code or country code needed to actually dial and connect the call. Incorrect country and area codes amended. Numbers clarified into a format where both the country and area code are clearly demarcated. These have all been researched and corrected wherever possible (several cannot be verified and have NOT been amended. The list formatting and punctuation was inconsistent, and has been tidied. Several numbers were obviously listed under the wrong country (and so have been moved), and a whole lot more were mis-formatted in some way. Every change was researched via http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_numbers_in_the_United_Kingdom http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_numbers_in_Thailand http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_numbers_in_Spain http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_numbers_in_Portugal http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_numbers_in_Austria http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_numbers_in_Sweden http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_numbers_in_India http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_numbers_in_Sri_Lanka http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_numbers_in_Malaysia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_numbers_in_Indonesia and via the official national resources linked from those pages as well as via the embassies of those countries, and numerous other searches. Fixed the format of Indian, and other, mobile numbers. Added additional notes and comments next to various numbers to clarify the information. List items were inconsistent in bulleting, indeed there are numerous ** marks in the article where the item is meant to be on the next line. Fixed those and numerous other layout, formatting and punctuation inconsistencies. Corrected spelling from 'e-mel' to 'email'. A full list of all of the changes would be longer than the article itself. Please replace the entire page with the text below (see EDIT screen to see it).

Not done. Sorry, but this is not meant to have content updates. Its no longer 2004. See Wikinews:Archive conventions. Bawolff 00:41, 30 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Better off to delete the whole page then. With the huge number of formatting, layout, missing area code, and spelling errors it is worse than useless. (Srd77 (talk) 21:59, 31 December 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Not done Consensus is needed to delete most pages, i can't remove this unilaterally. Please file a request at WN:DR if you think this should be deleted. Tempodivalse [talk] 22:25, 31 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, I actually believe it would be better to fix the formatting, layout, missing area code, and spelling errors, and the update that does that has been waiting to be approved for some days. I have reviewed Wikinews:Archive conventions and the suggested changes do not violate that. There's no material changes to the facts, mostly the presentation. (Srd77 (talk) 00:50, 2 January 2010 (UTC))[reply]

  • Not done For the last time, this is a historical page. Most of these numbers will no longer be in service – this sort of pedantry is just wasting the time of contributors on this project. --Brian McNeil / talk 10:47, 6 January 2010 (UTC

It would have taken less time to do the copy/paste than type that (Srd77 (talk) 17:29, 8 January 2010 (UTC))[reply]
