Aloha!
Welcome to my little corner of Wikinews, where it's never colder than 60°F (or 16°C for the metric-minded). Pull up a chair, pour yourself some pineapple juice, and let's talk story.
About me
[edit]I was born, raised, and live on the beautiful windward side of the island of Oahu, and work as an information technology professional at a major health insurer in Honolulu. In my spare time I like running, music, and writing. I keep a blog on the side (that's my outlet for my POVs so I don't bring it here). [1]
My goals
[edit]I'll be writing about most anything here, but I also plan to keep my eye out for stories about my home state that may have national or international implications...bringing the aloha spirit to Wikinews.
I'm also trying my hand at recording the newsbriefs for Audio Wikinews...indulging my inner news anchor. :)
I also contribute under this username at Wikipedia.

Barnstar!
[edit]Barnstar | ||
I, User:Messedrocker, award you a barnstar. Instead of following Wikinews tradition and getting into a petty argument over something like how to cite AP, you held a civil, non-hostile, and peaceful conversation with Mrmiscellanious. This level of agreeing-to-settle is indeed welcome on Wikinews, and I praise it. Well done. 18:47, 29 April 2006 (UTC) |
And a little note on etymology...
[edit]If it weren't for Hawaiian (which lent us the word wikiwiki for 'quick,' from which the technical term 'wiki' derives), this project would probably be called...hmmm...Quickienews?
