In the early years of Palestine under British mandate, there were no need for diet prescriptions to put on one's table vegetables and fruits of the citrus family.
Nowadays, the young generation is driven by advertisements to use more occidental recipes including hamburgers in fast-food restaurants.
The BBC study (see below) urges to combine this so-called mediterranean diet with less alcohol taking knowing that, even when most people know something is dangerous such as the tobacco, they are not refrained in Israel and elsewhere in the world.

Young bridge player wins at Antalya, Turkey[edit]
After having beaten the team of the famous Zia Mahmood in the quarter of finals, the 22 years old Thomas Bessis established an unprecedented record of winning an international bridge open title both so young and facing his father Michel.
The full competition was scheduled on five days ; this morning, the young man felt quite exhausted with no substitution allowed after yesterday 56 deals. At most other tables, the lead against three No-Trumps was Jack from J 10 9 8 4 but Thomas played the 4...
His aggressive style of bidding compensating those lacks of concentration, he won his first major alongside with Michel Bessis, Ron Patchtman and Eldad Ginossar by a margin of 26 IMPs at the European Open championships at Antalya, against the six Indian bridge players from the Texan Aces team consisting of sponsor G. Venkatesh (the only one actually in Texas), J.M. Shah, K. Krishnakumar, P. Sridharan, Badal Das and Sumit Mukherjee.
The first boards were quite equal but the Franco-Israeli quad lead by 61 IMPs before the last segment of 16 boards. 3,000 people were then watching the event but the organizer decided to stop the live display due to the huge difference. It was said far later that, with just two boards to go, the lead had been reduced to a mere 14 IMPs.

Hi,
I hope you're not getting frustrated with my edits to the mediterranean article. It was a very good start, however I explained my reasons on the article's talk page. It's very difficult too talk to everyone about every change, that's why sometimes I talk less to anons. Guess that's one of the advantages of having an account (which is free and without hassle). I hope you understand, and please continue you're great work here!

I've made various efforts to get the contributor to focus on a news event and build the story of the new French word around that. This hasn't happened, instead we have something between an encyclopedia entry and an almanac entry. --Brian McNeil / talk 20:54, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
- almanac entry ;-))) Sorry not to be able to formulate properly in your native language all the stuff you had already noticed in my sources. Imho, it is not encyclopeodic and the French wikipedia has already voted an analog deletion... In my own native language, the word almanac applies on a yearly and not on a weekly basis... I do feel sure that wikinews is the only place to publish the full reserch work I've already done. If nobody help me to ment my faultive English, I'll will of course realise that we were losing time (mine ten times more that yours) and I'll never bother the wikinews community again about my discoveries. Wikinews often focus on Google and, such as in the published entry Google warns against using its name as a verb emphatizes about whether a term is met enough frequently or not to hope getting inside a more classic dictionaries.
When included in any occidental language, new words need months, often years, to reach an acceptable level of recognition and bravitude on Google had only, the day before its first occurence on French TV, a mere 110 hits
Bravitude was then already used since 2005 by fans of a quite unknown role-playing game. On Tuesday bravitude could be found in 200,000 different pages and in less than one week, had reached the one million mark. This neologism has this Monday started a slow decline above 800,000 hits due to those web sites who hide their oldest pages while Google robots scan them.

Missing date template[edit]
You did the right thing adding in a date template and re-publishing the article. If you're going to make future contributions to the english Wikinews you might want to create an account - it makes you more a part of the community and we do have a mix of nationalities already. --Brian McNeil / talk 21:44, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
Unpublishing[edit]
The cricket article was published as there were no issues raised with it. Also the term fall of wicket can easily be understood and if not can be searched for. However IMP is harder to find a definition for. The issues raised on the Bridge article however need to be addressed whether you agree with them or not. --MarkTalk to me!! 15:42, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

- just because i contribute to an article does not mean it is my "child". also i did not "destroy your text" as a) i hardly edited your article apart form change the cleanup tag and b) by putting it on wikinews it becomes a wikinews' work. lastly you would have to have a reason to unpublish the cycling article other than one term that was not linked to. --MarkTalk to me 19:42, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
